Years ago I had a yahoo! Geocities website to post my artwork on. Eventually I lost my password and access and was unable to continue posting my pictures and then the Geocities websites were zapped before I was able to do anything to save my files. I'm hoping to recover enough of those old drawings that I can repost them here ... maybe if I'm ambitious enough I will post  the skin/genetics fiddlings I do for my sims 2 game as well.

*Note: Yeah, about the whole posting  the skin/genetics fiddlings I do for my sims 2 game blurb there..  I've decided to seperate the sims 2 stuff to it's own journal. You can get there by utilizing the link on the sidebar, looking up the username ([personal profile] verdandi ) or clicking here

So I finally gave in and purchased The Sims 3. Specifically, The Sims 3 plus Pets Limited Edition. I've been happily simming my time away since picking it up, and I'm really enjoying it (Not enjoying the amount of money I know I will inevitably drop on it!). This purchase happened to coincide with my decision to reread my way through the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, while at work during my breaks. Naturally, I developed the unshakeable desire to create Sim!versions of the characters in the series, so I've poked and prodded my way to some rough first attempts of a few of the ladies. To kick it off, these are my (first) versions of Moiraine Damodred, Nynaeve al'Meara, Elayne Trakand, Min Farshaw, Egwene al'Vere, Aviendha, Faile Bashere and Siuan Sanche. So far I've used only EA game sliders, Newsea hairs (as well as EA hairs where I didn't have a more appropriate style), and tried to make approximations of the outfits they could be seen in, at least within the restrictions I have regarding available custom content. I used RoseSims3's head pendant jewelry accessory for Moiraine's kesiera - I realize it doesn't match quite with the canon description, but it was the best I was able to dig up. With any luck, by the time I get revisions of these ladies done, there'll be more for me to use! Anyway, enjoy the pics, and feel free to comment on the sims! Constructive criticism is always welcome, but please don't "flame" me if the depiction isn't exactly how you pictured in your head! =)

So I have a TON of these. I didn't realize how many until I was going through my email and came across them. I posted on my Facebook page some time back offering up codes for anyone interested, but forgot to add a post here..   so if you would like a code, please PM me and I will pass you one. =)

Edit Dec. 18, 2011: Even MOAR codes now to pass out... if you'd like one don't hesitate to ask!

So I got very lucky...  one of my good friends still has her old art site from years back up and running (although no longer updated), and I was able to snag the bits of my art that she had, for my own use. This is by no means nearly the amount that I had up on my old site, and the files are all so small and unclear, but they're better than nothing. Beggars can't be choosers. Here's a preview to hold the space til my lazy butt gets everything uploaded to my photobucket.

Yes, that is the picture of my avatar, SatyrElf. Hand sketched, imported into Photoshop 6.0 (yes, before the whole CS deal!) via an old Epson scanner (before scanners could be part of a printer!) and hand colored. I was very proud of it when it was done. And yes, it's got some age.
